🚲 Bike-Powered Air Quality Monitoring

Hello! We are a group of CMU students who started this project to address gaps in air quality monitoring across Pittsburgh. We put air quality sensors on POGOH bicycles because bikes go where people go. Learn more about the project here. Each circle on the map shows the current Air Quality Index (AQI) at that location as measured on a POGOH bicycle.

🎨 Understanding the Colors

Green: Good (0-50)
Lime: Moderate (51-75)
Yellow: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (76-100)
Orange: Unhealthy (101-125)
Red: Very Unhealthy (126-150)
Purple: Hazardous (151+)

🔷 Marker Shapes

Different shapes represent different data sources:

Square markers: ACHD (Allegheny County Health Department) official monitoring stations
Circle markers: POGOH (bikeshare) mobile monitoring

The border color indicates how recent the data is:
